100 SHEPHERDESS WALK | Jaccaud Zein | Islington, London 5 - Uniform Architectural Ltd

Uniform Architectural Ltd are proud to be licensed members of the Police, Crime Prevention Initiative, “Secured by Design” (SBD) – and to have the coveted SBD Certification across its entire range of timber/aluminium composite windows and doors.

Certification involves, not only passing the rigorous physical attack test of PAS24;  BS6375 2000 parts 1 &2 for strength and weatherability; plus BS644 for material specific performance and longevity –  but these results are audited and re-tested annually, to ensure that every product manufactured, maintains these high standards – not just those submitted for testing. Every window/door sold as being SBD compliant, has a confirmatory SBD endorsement permanently attached to it, discreetly located in the sash rebate.

The SBD concept was first introduced in 1988, by Sgt Hebden of Sussex Police – in order to improve the general standard of domestic home security in newly built homes, to bring them up to a minimum standard of “Police Preferred Specification”. Since then, the influence and success has grown exponentially, directly accounting for a huge reduction of successful break-ins into domestic new homes.

Recognising the potential security benefit of this new initiative at the time, Uniform’s current Sales & Marketing Director, Chris Dixon, immediately signed up and began to support it as one of the founder members of this enterprise, which has since expanded into all domestic and commercial properties, schools, car parks and many other areas where security needed to be enhanced – see this for yourself in our Gallery section.

Continuing to fully support SBD, Uniform has a wide range of SBD certified acoustic and Passive House uni_one® windows; Balcony Doors; Lift & Slide Patio Doors; Tilt & Turn windows and slender profile, Format38™ casement windows. All are available to view online or from our brochures.
